The Mission of the McLoud School Foundation
is to enhance educational opportunities through
active support of the students and teachers of McLoud Public School.
Why Our Kids and Our Schools
Need a Foundation
The greatest gift that any community can give to its children is educational opportunity. All our kids deserve the chance to learn, grow and fulfill their maximum potential. In the increasingly complex and technological future that they face, their formative education must be the best that the community can provide. This is where the McLoud School Foundation comes in. Our mission is to increase our school’s ability to provide additional opportunities and programs for our kids.
Since the Foundation’s beginnings in 2011, we have been able to deliver $51,722.00 in additional funding directly to the classroom by way of teacher grants and in the form of scholarships to deserving high school seniors, who seek to continue their education at either college or vocational school. In addition, we partnered with other community organizations to provide “solar eclipse” glasses for every student in McLoud Schools so that they might observe this rare phenomenon. The Foundation also helps fund the Academic Letter Jacket program, which honors students who have achieved academic excellence throughout their high school years. In cooperation with local businesses, we supported our kids with meals or snacks during State testing. By participating in Teacher Appreciation Week, we recognized the valuable work that our teachers perform. The funds we raise stay in McLoud to support only McLoud kids and teachers. All donations to the Foundation are tax-deductible.
The McLoud School Foundation’s mission is to make it possible for our teachers and kids to obtain necessary equipment and programs by raising money to bridge the gap left by State and Federal funding shortfalls. The gap between state and federal funding for education and what is truly needed has never been wider. This truth was broadcast both statewide and nationally during the demonstrations at the State Capitol in April. The challenges for our schools, our kids and our teachers have never been more daunting. If current and future McLoud Public School students are to encounter the same quality educational experiences as alumni, all of us must contribute to supplement the funding for our schools.
To become part of the team that will support our kids, our teachers and our schools, local business and individual donors may join the Foundation at our annual golf tournament, participate in our drawings throughout the year, engage in the Redskin Revenue campaign by sponsoring students for $20 each, commemorate or honor a loved one or special teacher with a donation by mailing a check or using our online portal.
